we’re open full-time august thru june, with regular drop-in, themed series & classes, workshops, and performance opportunities, our programs cater to the child, teen, & adult dancer with various experience levels to choose from. new this year (2026): public classes taught by members and guest artists from the Charlotte Dance Company. these classes are perfect for individuals who seek a broader, robust approach to dance education or simply put, an “advanced-professional” level class.

class information
class dates/times will be posted two weeks - three months in advance
you can register for up to three weeks at a time . a new week will be added every saturday at 11:59p easternwe recommend arriving at least ten minutes before class time
if an emergency situation occurs, students will be notified 3+ hours before class time. messages will be posted on the site & emailed/texted to everyone affected. weather/other conditions will be assessed as needed for the safety of all.
attendance: please notify us if you’re unable to attend a scheduled class. a credit will be applied (use within a month).

pointe \\ 25% ballet technique & strenthening exercises (floor/barre) and 75% en pointe movements & combinations
BaLLET \\ barre work, center, and across-the-floor exercises. There will be short combinations (barre/floor)
MODERN variations \\ foundations from various techniques while exploring individual styles, forms, and breathing
contemporary Jazz \\ stretching, expressions, fluidity, and lyrical interpreTATION. full combination (floor)
lyrical jazz \\
JAZZ variations \\ traditional jazz with elements of theater. turns, leaps, & jumps in exercises/combos
STREET JAZZ \\ commercial Jazz with Hip Hop elements. center work with a full combination
HIP HOP \\ combines history, street styles and era-specific music. center work, across-the-floor exercises. full combination

package descriptions
(4-6Y): An introductory combination class of ballet, tap, and mat work that promotes technique in each discipline in a fun and supportive environment.
(7-9Y): Builds students technique, terminology and ability to explore, improv, and develop in ballet, tap, and jazz.
(10-12Y): Pre-teen ballet, tap, jazz & hip hop. Traditional & contemporary syllabus that emphasizes technique, rhythm and emotion.
